My heart is heavy and I’m a little emotional as I write this but as the end of the year draws closer my hope of a final tour is dwindling. I wanted to hang on to whatever I could in hope that they would tour one last time. For more than 15 years I have spent a plethora of money on concert tickets, merch, and driving ridiculous distances just to get my fix all the while not giving a fuck about adult responsibilities. When it comes to Brand New, there is no other band that compares. I could go on and on about how they helped me through the roughness of my teen years and pretty much saved my life, but I’m not going to rant on about that. The silver lining out of all this is the amount of money that I will be able to save because I won’t be so quick to drain my bank account to chase them around on tour. I would like to thank everyone who has ever sat outside the venue with me for hours and hours before the doors even opened just to be the first ones inside, to everyone who ever made that mad dash to the front of the stage dodging security guards, and to all the memories we have made and will cherish for the rest of our lives. Most of all a special thank you to @ashlee_fl for getting it and completely understanding every aspect of this obsession. Thank you for being the only one who was willing to go homeless and live in a cardboard box under a bridge with me just so we can spend money and travel and see them. I’m letting go of whatever shred of hope I had left, despite my heart breaking into a million pieces, I’ve come to terms with the death of my favorite band. R.I.P. First concert in over a year and it was spectacular! I have a new found appreciation for @of_montreal. Only my 2nd time seeing them but the gap between was a decade so this time was completely different from the first. If you haven’t had the chance to see them live I strongly recommend it.
